Ring and run

So, lately this whole situation in Syria became a very very very trending topic.

On Monday I had my piano class, and inevitably my teacher and I started talking about this. She made an observation I had never considered before: it is always Europe who ends up dealing with all the problems in the Middle East, even though most of those problems are way more related to the USA than to the EU.

Recently many European countries have decided to accept refugees from the war. But what about the USA?

I just can't help picturing as if the USA was this naughty little kid playing ring and run with every country on the other side of the sea: they go and cause trouble (or worsen the one there already is), and then go away and leave it for someone else to deal with the angry person who opened the door. Being on the other side of the world doesn't mean it won't affect the American Continent, and it doesn't mean either that they are forgiven for not taking responsibility on their actions.

Even though there might be a lot of political conveniences for the actions taken lately in Europe, I find it quite admirable that at least they try to make this a better (in a human way) world.

Or at least that's my point of view now.
